Alejandro Oliveros

Alejandro Oliveros is a young choral conductor from San Antonio, Texas. He graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio, and taught in Fort Worth ISD before returning to San Antonio as the Director of Music at his alma mater, The Atonement Catholic Academy. He also directs at the parish of Our Lady of the Atonement, a parish of the Personal Ordinariate of the Chair of St. Peter. While a student at UTSA he studied with Dr. John Silantien, as well as Professor Michele Mangani, prolific conductor and professor at the G. Rossini Conservatory in Pesaro, Italy.

Mr. Oliveros directs choirs of all ages, from childrens choirs to advanced high school chamber ensembles, to adults in the Choir of Our Lady of the Atonement. When not on the podium, he sings with friends in the San Antonio-based choir Vita Animae, and joins the professional San Antonio Chamber Choir this season singing bass. He has conducted larger works such as John Stainer's The Crucifixfion, Maurice Durufle's Requiem, and John Rutter's Gloria.

Mr. Oliveros lives in San Antonio with his wife Maggie, and their two dogs, Bartok and Oslo.
